Torii Hunter is a perfect hitter for Detroit Tigers – MLB News

Detroit Tigers believe Torii Hunter can prove to be perfect No.2 hitter for them, reports a leading sports content website. Hunter is an extremely talented hitter. Since making his Major League Baseball debut, the guy has shown he has the ability to secure
RBI’s and home runs against the best pitching attacks.
Considering his vast experience at this level, it will not be wrong to say that he can provide the Tigers with extra strength and reliability in their batting lineup. Hunter played seven big league seasons for the Los Angeles Angels but he was unable to
claim the prestigious World Series Ring.
“Hunter has fewer career sacrifice bunts than Victor Martinez. As a matter of fact, he has fewer (5-3) than Miguel Cabrera.  And as an indication of how the game has changed, Al Kaline had 45 during his career. Do the Tigers traditionally demand a lot of
sacrifice attempts from their No. 2 hitter? They've been known to. In the last three seasons, for instance — corresponding to how long center fielder Austin Jackson has been with the Tigers — Detroit's No. 2 hitters have put down 36 sacrifices, second only
to the No. 9 spot at 39,” said Tom Gage of Detroitnews.com.
As soon as the 2012 regular season ended, Hunter asked his agent to have a word with Tigers about the possibility of signing a contract. There was a reason why Hunter was so keen to move to Detroit. Firstly, he knew that he will have his best chance of winning
a World Series title ring with the Tigers. Furthermore, his son had also signed on a contract with a football team in Detroit.
Living in Detroit, Hunter will have the opportunity to meet his son on his days off. After posting some impressive stats (.343 average with 69 RBI’s) for the Angels in 2012, Hunter is looking to continue his run scoring streak with the Tigers. Normally,
we do not associate sacrifice bunts with Hunter, who calls himself a prototypical hitter.
With Miguel Cabrera looking in the form of his life and Prince Fielder looking to find his lost form, Tigers’ batting lineup, without a shadow of doubt, seems to be the best in the American League.
