Torii Hunter stunned by Los Angeles Angels offseason claim – MLB Update
Earlier when news came out in the media that Torii Hunter will be re-signing with the Los Angeles Angels as many believed that this will certainly going to happen and this sort of speculation is right.
However, behind back doors, the Angels and Hunter’s agent were meeting and keeping negotiations alive. Suddenly news broke that Hunter and Angels have completed talks but both sides could not agree on a mutual understating.
Later Torii Hunter singed with the Detroit Tigers and started a new beginning with them after playing most of the time in South Los Angeles baseball franchise. No one knew what went wrong in those behind back door meetings in which Los Angeles Angels and Hunter agreed to part ways.
Now is has been reported in the media that Torii Hunter was constantly lied by the Angels management during that particular meetings. He was told that the Angels’ current financial situation does not allow any flexibility regarding a potential re-signing.
"I was told money was tight but I guess the Arte (Moreno, Angels owner) had money hidden under a Mattress, Business is business but don't lie," Hunter posted a comment on Twitter around 3:30 p.m. and explained about Angels double standers.
Hunter later also posted on Twitter with more detail, "Just keeping it real!! I'm not upset just have fun with it."
Hunter has finally spoken after the Los Angeles Angels completed a five-year $125 million deal. It shows how the Angels planned to let go Hunter who played the last Major League Baseball season with brilliance.
Some say he played of his best seasons in his 15-year Major League career. He went hitting at .313 along with 16 homers, 92 RBIs and .365 OBP. Despite putting great numbers, the Angels were certainly agreed that Hunter’s re-signing will be pushed them further in financial restraints.
Though many in the Angels and Tigers have not commented on this developing story but experts believe that more inside facts will be coming in the next few days. Meanwhile, Hunter stays happy with his new team in Detroit and hoping a great beginning with them.
