Question:

Torn ACL Problems....?

I tore my ACL when I fell off my husband's motorcycle. No health insurance and I am not licenced to ride so his motorcycle insurance would not cover me. Therefor I could not get the surgery (rought $30,000 on my own). Its been two months now and I can walk on it, with a limp. It gets weak when I sit down and try to stand. And I cannot fully straighten it or bend it, much less put any pressure on my knee. Without surgery will it get somewhat back to normal or even heal or can I look forward to a life of limping and pain until I can get the surgery?

  1. Get the surgery, I had to have a ruptured disk repaired w/o insurance and I've been paying for it each month. There's no interest that accumulates on a medical bill. The trick is to find a doctor that will do the surgery.

Don't put it off too long.

  2. you will heal somewhat, but most likely you will always have a limp. try to come up with the money as soon as you can. the longer yuo wait, the more your body heals incorrectly. this WILL cause problems in other areas.. your hips, ankles, feet, lower back
