Torn triceps: coach John Harbaugh says Baltimore Ravens list LB Ray Lewis day-to-day – NFL News
The Baltimore Ravens have listed linebacker Ray Lewis as day-to-day but a timeline of the player’s return to action is still as much uncertain as was before his hitting the field for practice.
Lewis who suffered torn triceps during initial phase of this season was placed on the injured list designated to return by mid-season. He hit the field for the first time for practice on his own on Wednesday but Coach John Harbaugh said the player is yet
to report full recovery.
The coach said they have listed him as day-to-day and once he reports his availability for selection they will consider him taking back into the squad. His return nevertheless is much awaited and will boost the squad strength, overall.
John said:
"He is not imminent to return to play (in a game) or anything like that, so to me it's really a nonstory. He'll go out there when he's ready to practice when the elbow holds up. And when that happens, we'll let you know."
The LB has returned to action following a couple of reports that his recovery was quite ahead of schedule and was due to hit the field any time soon, which happened on Wednesday.
It is more good news for the team after LB Terrell Suggs’ return to action. Suggs had suffered a torn Achilles tendon, which could have cost him the entire season. Instead, he recovered quickly and rejoined the team by late October, much to the surprise
of everyone.
Lewis’ recovery has also been at a higher pace, and his surprise return is set to boost the defensive line of the team, which according to the coach despite injuries issues has done rather well in the season.
The Baltimore Ravens are due to face the Pittsburgh Steelers second time in the season this Sunday (Dec. 02) and if they win the game and their divisional rivals the Cincinnati Bengal lose their game, they will be through to playoffs and winner of the American
Football Conference (AFC) North, second time in a row.
