How common are tornados and/or hurricaines in Rome, Italy?

  2. There has never been an observed hurricane or tropical cyclone in the Mediterranean, although an interesting feature called a "Medicane" has been observed on several occasions. There are classification issues involved, and as not many observations have been reported on them (usually only wind and pressure regardless), the issue remains unresolved (see below for Wiki-link).

    Tornadoes have happened in Italy from time to time, but they are exceedingly rare and one's chances of being hit in Rome are near absolute zilch.

    In short, hurricanes no, tornadoes possible but never recorded (specifically in Rome, that is).
