  1. You'll be fine. I went on holiday last week and before I left I found a video on YouTube of flash floods on the road we were staying on and a tornado in the area. I went there and it was fine - sunny for the whole time.

  2. Hi

The Tornado was in Palma/South of the Island and Alcudia didn't experience it as it is in the North of the Island.  I was in Alcudia at the time and although it rained for a few days we didn't experience anything like they did in the south of the island.

You can't worry about the weather when going on holiday - no one can really predict it - but it's got to be better than here yes?

Going back to Alcudia in a few weeks and cannot wait.

If it starts raining - lots of hotels keep brollies behind the reception desk and usually let you use them if you are going out wandering.

Hope you have a fantastic time

    xx

  3. That's crazy to be scared. There are millions of people all over the world who CHOOSE to live in areas where there are regular earthquakes (California for example), tornados etc. etc. And obviously Majorca has loads of people who live there all the time. They'd have buggered off by now if it was even slightly dangerous!

  4. I've lived here 17 years and we've never had a tornado to my knowledge. Rain and wind and plenty of it, yeah, but more than that no. So you come and enjoy yourself love :)

  5. Yes, there was a Tornado last October -  I was in Alcudia and, despite what one person says, it caused a fair amount of damage round the harbour and I saw large wheelie bins strewn everywhere just outside Alcudia and many trees down. We watched the storm from our hotel bedroom as I had never experienced anything like it anywhere I have been on holiday. It was experienced on mainland Spain and other islands in the Med.  Certainly Palma had the worst as the tornado entered the island there and swept in an arc across to Alcudia and then out to sea.

It was very short lived and very very unusual so don't be put off your holiday as normally it is lovely in October and it is highly unlikely such freak weather will occur again.

  6. October weather can be changeable weather usually nice for us but spanish people will find it cold

  7. will see u there we going on 27 sep till 11 oct we can hide together

  8. The "hurricane" had winds of over 100kms per hour and lasted all of 15 mins!

Mallorca is a Mediterranean island and, in common with most coastal areas, will get more storms and rain than inland areas.  The weather is something that noone can predict.  To worry about it ruining your holiday will stop you having a good time even if it's sunny and hot everyday.  You'll be waiting for something awful to happen.  Just make sure you have travel insurance to cover any mishaps.  But the chances of something like this happening is minimal.

Just go ahead an enjoy your holiday.  Mallorca is a beautiful place, and even if it rains you can still have fun.  It's all up to you really, not the weather.
