Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Buemi relieved after Hungarian Grand Prix performance – Formula 1 news
Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Buemi has recently admitted that he was starting to feel the pressure as he was unable to secure some good results before the Hungarian Grand Prix.
He finished in 8th place at the Hungaroring though after which he has stated that he is feeling relieved now.
“It's true. The holiday weeks will now be bearable! I am under contract to Red Bull until 2013, so it's not my decision. They are free to put me wherever they want in one of their teams (Toro Rosso or Red Bull). It is also possible to drive for another team,
but the parent (Red Bull) will have the say,” he said.
According to some reports, it has been revealed that Red Bull Racing team is going to replace Mark Webber with one of the Toro Rosso drivers preferably whenever he retires. Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi are on their toes therefore as they want to
secure the best possible results during their ‘testing period’ for RBR.
RBR’s motorsport advisor Helmut Marko on the other hand has revealed that the team is interested in signing Daniel Ricciardo from Hispania Racing Team which even makes it more pressurising for both Alguersuari and Buemi as they would have to perform at their
best in order to secure a spot at RBR.
Other than that, Buemi stated that he is hoping for the best as he is defeating his teammate who is on equal terms with him in terms of technology.
“It is the only driver with whom I fight on equal terms. I always fight to finish ahead of him both in qualifying and the races, and in 11 races I have beaten him eight times. It's very positive,” said Buemi.
Toro Rosso are having a pretty good run this season as he is in 8th place and is just 4 points short of Force India in the constructors’ standings. Buemi on the other hand is in 13th place in the drivers’ standings and is 2 points ahead
of his teammate Alguersuari.
