Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Buemi’s performance in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far
Scuderia-Toro Rosso driver Sebastien Buemi is not in a very competitive form in the 2011 Formula 1 season, but he is trying to make improvements in terms of performance race-by-race.
Buemi joined the Formula 1 sport in 2008. Red Bull Racing selected him as a test driver of the team for the 2008 season’s races.
Formula 1 Toro Rosso team confirmed Buemi as its race driver at the start of 2009. Since that time, the Swiss driver is still driving for the Toro Rosso team.
After learning the different features of the new STR6 car in the 2011 winter test session, Buemi took part in the ongoing season with an aim of giving more to his team.
The 22-year-old driver took an impressive start in the season, as he finished his first race in the top ten positions for his team. Buemi started his Australian Grand Prix from the 10th place on the Albert Park racetrack and ended
up in the eighth spot.
The Italian-based outfit driver was encouraged for the next races with his satisfactory results in the first round of the ongoing season.
He dropped down his position in the next Malaysian Grand Prix. He ended his race in the 13th spot behind Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg after starting from the 12th place on the grid.
The team driver did not have a good raceday in China, as he finished his Grand Prix at the 14th place following the positive qualifying round at the Shanghai International Circuit.
Buemi tried to close his gap from the strong teams in the 2011 Turkish Grand Prix, where he successfully finished his race in the top ten positions. He made a lot of improvements in terms of performance during the Istanbul race and finished his race at the
ninth place in the end.
The team driver pushed back on the midfield in the 2011 Spanish Grand Prix, as his car was not supportive to him throughout the race weekend.
He started his Spanish race from the 14th place on the Circuit de Catalunya and ended up in the 11th spot for the Toro Rosso team.
Buemi was back in the top ten positions at the 2011 Monaco Grand Prix, where he came at the 10th place in the final race classifications following the disappointing qualifying round at the Monte Carlo circuit.
The Toro Rosso driver was again at the 10th place in the Canadian Grand Prix after struggling in the wet.
He was unable to show his better performance on the grid in the 2011 European Grand Prix. After starting his Grand Prix from the 17th place on the Valencia Street Circuit, he came at the 13th position
in the end.
In the following Grand Prix, Buemi failed to complete his race, as his car was damaged due to an accident at the Silverstone racetrack.
Buemi put Toro Rosso at the 15th place in the 2011 German Grand Prix. After a very disappointing qualifying round in Nurburgring, he ended up at the 15th place for the team.
The Toro Rosso driver bounced back on the F1 racetrack in the Hungarian Grand Prix. He ended his Budapest race at the eighth place after getting below par results in qualifying round at the Hungaroring race circuit.
