Toro Rosso to officially launch their car in Valencia
Red Bull Toro Rosso had an awful 2010 Formula 1 season as the team was unable to secure good points throughout the season consistently.
Toro Rosso finished in 9th place in the constructors’ standings ahead of the three new teams. Neither of the new teams (Lotus Racing Team, Virgin Racing Team and Hispania Racing Team) was able to secure a single point and as a result, Toro Rosso
were the worst points-scoring team with only 13 points on the grid.
It was a very disappointing season for the team as both of their drivers Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari were unable to give a promising performance but one cannot blame their drivers entirely for the season’s failure. The team was unable to deliver
a good car even though it was expected that Toro Rosso would be a threat for teams like Force India and Sauber.
Nevertheless, the team has vowed that they will not disappoint their fans in 2011 as they have been experimenting with their next car a lot and are hoping for a much better result next season.
The 2010 Formula 1 world champions Red Bull’s sister team Toro Rosso recently became the second team to reveal that they will launch their 2011 Formula 1 car at the pre-season test session that is expected to take place on 1 February in Valencia.
Other than Toro Rosso, BMW Sauber revealed that they would reveal their car for the 2011 Formula 1 season a day before the pre-season test sessions.
Toro Rosso will reveal its STR6 on the first day of testing and quite obviously, other teams are looking forward to their car launch as they are interested to see the new gadgets and modifications Toro Rosso might have come up with for their new car.
However, Toro Rosso have not revealed their official drivers’ list for next season and it would definitely be interesting to see who the lucky two drivers are.
With just 6 seats remaining up for grabs, Nico Hulkenberg, Nick Heidfeld and a couple of other drivers are still looking for a full-season driving seat in the sport.
It is expected that Sebastien Buemi might keep his seat at the team but Toro Rosso have not confirmed anything yet.
