Toro Rosso’s Jaime Alguersuari believes he deserves a better drive – Formula 1 news
Toro Rosso driver Jaime Alguersuari believes that he deserve a better drive in Formula 1 world.
“I have no place for next year, so far I have not spoken to anyone at Toro Rosso about next season. What I want is a car that allows me to be at the front and win races. I think I deserve it. I do want to fight to be 16th. I want a car that can win the World
title because I can do it,” he told Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
He has been a part of the team since 2009 keeping in mind that this is his third year with the team. Alguersuari has been performing really well in 2011 so far as he has secured a handful of points and has scored some pretty good results for the team in
the past as well.
Since there are reports that claim that Toro Rosso have not confirmed Alguersuari for the 2012 Formula 1 season, it seems that he is not even willing to drive with them for another season. He wants a race winning team now and Toro Rosso need a lot of time
in order to score performances at that level.
There were rumours that if Red Bull Racing, Toro Rosso’s senior team do not keep Mark Webber for another season, they would sign one of the Toro Rosso drivers. However, the team confirmed that they will keep the Aussie for 2012 as well and now it seems that
Alguersuari is getting a little frustrated as he had his hopes high for the 2012 Formula 1 season.
Toro Rosso are currently in 8th place in the constructors’ standings and they have a pretty good chance of taking on Force India for the 6th place in the constructors’ standings. There are still 6 races left in the 2011 Formula 1 season but they would have
to defeat both Sauber and Force India if they want to win.
