Toronto's Pearson International Airport -- Help!?

Has anyone used Toronto's Pearson Airport Terminal 1 since it re-opened in March? Is it confusing, or easy to follow?

I just looked at the new map of Terminal 1 on the website and I couldn't even figure out where I wanted to go on the map!

I am departing from Pearson Terminal 1 this week, and I will be arriving there in a few weeks time.

Any comments/advice about Terminal 1 at Toronto's Pearson International Airport?

  1. Easy peasy except for the security n**i inside the secure area.  The last time I flew out of there on an international flight there was this little hitler partway down the arm of the terminal wanting to see everyone's boarding pass.  OK I'll buy that when passing through the security barrier but not halfway down the BLANKing terminal!!!  She sent passangers back to get their boarding passes so they could pass by her to get to the bathrooms.  She checked them both ways it was unDIRTY_WORD believable.  Everyone inside the secure area should have been screened so a secondary presentation shouldn't have been necessary until you go to get on the plane..

  2. It is like any other airport. The gates are numbered in sequence and there are plenty of signs. You shouldn't have any issues.

  3. Actually I found Terminal 1 much easier to use than Terminal 2.

And it reopened LAST March, not this one.

Just keep an eye open for the signs. The biggest difficulty seems to be for connecting flights into the US - getting baggage.  You have to pick up baggage before going to US Customs and Immigration, and the room to do that is near the check in counters, but before you get to them (from the other flights - it would be after you get to them if you were coming from outside.  Which, by definition, you are not.  It is easy to miss it entirely.  Keep an eye open for the signs there.
