Toronto Blue Jays' outfielder Jose Bautista potentially out for season – MLB Recap
Toronto Blue Jays' outfielder Jose Bautista is potentially out for the rest of the season as he will have surgery on his left wrist in the next few days.
Though the Blue Jays' management did not announce any possible date for their player’s procedure but this is certain that Bautista’s surgery will end his 2012 campaign.
The recovery period for this type of surgery is three to four months and if Bautista gets his treatment done on time, he will join the Jays possibly in next year’s Spring Training.
“There's just too much instability in that tendon and it got to the point where risking injuring the tendon was not worth it, That's why we're opting to do it now, Luckily for me the tendon is completely intact, He just needs to make it stable again," Bautista said on his current condition.
Bautista added, "I didn't have the consistency I wanted to but I think I picked it up on a production level and I was able to contribute, What I really wanted to do, and I said this many times, was remain healthy but unfortunately I wasn't able to."
The Blue Jays' veteran outfielder was struggling with his left wrist since July as he recently came off the disabled list as well while now his team management decided yet again that Bautista must receive a wrist procedure before anything gets more serious.
Blue Jays’ management knows well as to how important Bautista is for them. Though this year they have lost their grip on the season and probably will not get into the post season, but they are saving their energy and more importantly the game plans for next year.
Manager John Farrell is also watching his player’s development and expressing optimistically in the media that Bautista will soon be playing for the team. He has also described that Jose’s procedure will help his future game which will automatically help the Jays as well.
Until his last game, Bautista has showed great energy. He played intelligently as his hitting average remained consistent at .241 along with 27 homers, 65 RBIs and .358 OBP.
