Toronto Blue Jays' pitcher Ricky Romero struggles to find his natural form – MLB News
The Toronto Blue Jays at the moment are currently struggling as they still cannot find the right rotation combination for a potential opportunity to go into the post season this year.
They have been playing well, but still not in the picture where their chances will be somewhat possible for another round of play in the 2012 Major League Baseball playoffs.
Recently some people in the media have reported in several publications that the Blue Jays are struggling with their basic strategy.
While Ricky Romero is the main player in this strategy failure whose struggles and issues with controlling the ball is creating difficulties for the rest of the roster. His recent form and the level of performance has been under extreme criticism by many baseball experts as well as the Blue Jays’ top management.
According to some other experts, Romero’s current form could lead him to a potential trade. However, this speculation or rather expert opinion was rejected when the Blue Jays' management denied any potential trade possibility. Instead they issued a statement which suggests that the Canadian side is more interested in another signing, potentially a pitcher.
“Inconsistencies in the rotation compound overuse in the bullpen, that’s a given, If there’s a pecking order to (our) wants and needs, Alex and I have shared the same … conversation as at the start of the year. What makes a good bullpen is a good starting rotation,” Blue Jays' manager John Farrell said in detail regarding the difficulties his team is having at the moment.
Farrell added emphasising on Romero, “Again, it goes back to what he has control over, You have control over exuding a mound presence and projecting a body language, even when challenges are present and they’re staring you in the face.”
Team skipper Farrell also agrees that Romero has control issues but if he works a little harder, this is quite certain that he will regain his previous good form.
Currently Romero is playing with an ERA of 5.35 along with 8-3 win loss, 74 strike-outs and 1.49 WHIP.
