Toronto Blue Jays: Regular season results – MLB April 2011
With 17 wins in 31 appearances, Toronto Blue Jays had a decent run in the spring training season as they gave a tough time to strong teams like the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. Walking on the same lines, the Blue Jays made a wonderful
start to their three match series against Minnesota Twins as they crushed the opposition 13-3 in the opening game.
In a completely one sided contest, the Blue Jays dominated the challenging team in almost all areas of the game. The hitting scored heavily to let their side take complete control of the contest. J.P. Arencibia hit two home-runs and drove in five runs while
Jose Bautista and Adam Lind also displayed some high quality hitting skills as the Blue Jays posted a huge total on the board.
"I really feel like the team is excited about what's going on here," Arencibia said. "That was the biggest thing for me. I had so much fun playing behind these guys. Everyone from top to bottom had a great game."
The Blue Jays were outstanding in game two of the series as well as they hammered the Twins 6-1 to secure an impressive series victory. John Farrell and his men continued to impress the critics afterwards as well and although they lost a nail biting final
game 3-4, they looked on course to achieve significant results in the regular season.
Putting up a great fight in the first game of the three match series against Oakland Athletics, the Blue Jays showed great determination, team work and fighting abilities to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Travis Snider hit a three run homer in game two of
the series to give his side a substantial lead. Team Manager, John Farrell was impressed by the efforts of his men and he aimed to give similar performances in the upcoming games in the month of April.
"We're hopeful and at least cautiously optimistic at this point that we're not entertaining something like [a concussion]," Blue Jays’ manager John Farrell said.
However, the Blue Jays failed to live up to the expectation in their next series against Los Angeles Angels. Despite clinching the opening encounter 3-2, the AL East team struggled to deliver the goods in game two and three of the series to suffer their
first series loss of the month. Overall, the month of April proved to be a positive one for the Blue Jays as they completed a brilliant 3-1 series victory over the inform Texas Rangers to improve their win-loss record to 12-13.
It looked as if the Toronto Blue Jays were picking up steam as they managed to put in some tremendous performances during the month.
