Toronto Blue Jays acquire Jose Reyes – MLB Update
Toronto Blue Jays shocked many when they managed a blockbuster trade with Miami Marlins in which they acquired shortstop Jose Reyes.
Many say that this was one of the biggest trades in the Major League’s recent history which also sent Mark Buehrle to the Blue Jays.
Reyes, who will now start a fresh beginning with the Blue Jays next season onwards, is a good baseball player and possesses enough experience to start for Toronto.
His presence will give the Blue Jays an accurate direction towards a good and competitive season. He finished this past Major League Baseball season with .287 hitting average along with eleven homers, 57 RBIs and .347 OBP.
Not only in 2012 season, but Jose Reyes has also been playing quite consistently for past several years. His career hitting average of .291 along with 92 home-runs, 480 RBIs and .324 OBP also shows how consistent his performance is.
"He's one of the top five shortstops in baseball, one of the most exciting, game-changing players currently playing ... with his speed, his bat and his glove. He'll steal a base, hit a triple. He'll be more exciting on turf. He'll have a lot more doubles and triples at the Rogers Centre," said a National League general manager for his skills and extraordinary talent.
Later said a scout for a National League East Division team and explained about Reyes and his game, "It sure as heck helps us, makes our division easier, Last year at the winter meetings we were in our room wondering about how we were going to beat the Marlins. I like Reyes a lot, but he was a bit of a loose cannon with the Mets."
Experts believe that Jose Reyes’ arrival in the Blue Jays will certainly bring a positive impact on the entire roster. The Blue Jays have been struggling for past couple of seasons but this latest development will work and eventually give them many benefits.
The Toronto Blue Jays' fans are also seeing all this development with excitement and showing their optimism for new players.
