Toronto Blue Jays crush Tampa Bay Rays 7-3 – MLB Update
Toronto Blue Jays crushed Tampa Bay Rays 7-3 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario on Tuesday, April 17 in their regular season encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball.
The Blue Jays made an aggressive start to their three match series against the Rays on Tuesday night, dominating their opponents in almost all departments of the game.
For the Blue Jays, Adam Lind, Jose Bautista and Brett Lawrie put up magical performances to force their opponents completely out of the contest.
"Lind, I think he's 31 for 30 against Niemann," Maddon further added. "He's just unbelievable."
"In my mind, he's the best third baseman in the game," Carlos Pena said. "Those balls today were not easy."
Rays’ thirdbaseman Evan Longoria made too many unforced errors and he paid the heavy for it.
"Those were tough plays for Longoria," Rays manager Joe Maddon said in a post game interview. "It was just one of those nights. Those were not routine errors."
"It was a rough day," said Longoria. "I'm just trying to make the aggressive play. Tonight it just happened to not work out three times."
With six wins in their 10 games, John Farrell and company are certainly looking in decent form. It is interesting to know that  Blue Jays’ last World Series win was recorded in 1993 and they have not been able to impress their critics since then.
Considering the quality of their game play during the Spring Training Session and some of the regular season games, it will be fair to say that Toronto is one of the strongest candidates to win the World Series finals this season.
However, the Blue Jays will have to make sure they keep fighting hard in each game until the end of the season and that is what their fans want to see as well.
The Rays, on the other hand, will be disappointed with the way they performed in the last couple of weeks. After sweeping New York Yankees 3-0 in their opening series of the season, they have not been able to execute their game plan well enough.
