Toronto Blue Jays defeat Boston Red Sox 3-1 – MLB Update
Toronto Blue Jays defeated Boston Red Sox 3-1 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday, April 11 in their regular season encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball.
The Blue Jays displayed some high quality baseball skills during the Spring Training Session. It seems they have carried the winning momentum in to the regular season as they looked in supreme form in their three match series against the Red Sox.
Despite losing the opening game to the Red Sox, the Blue Jays continued to play aggressively and they were rewarded big time on Wednesday night after they wrapped up the series with a superb 3-1 win over their arch rivals.
John Farrell and his men will be very pleased with the way things have gone for them so far this season. Blue Jays’ last World Series title win was recorded in 1993. Since then, the Blue Jays have had some great runs but never managed to reach the World
Series finals.
It appears is if the 2012 season is the one the Blue Jays had been waiting for. Only the time will if the Blue Jays can live up to their fans’ expectations.
The Red Sox, on the other hand, will have to work hard on some areas of their game play if they want to be successful in their upcoming games.
"That's not the road trip we want," Boston manager Bobby Valentine said, "but we've got a home stand coming up and we'll try to see if we can't get things going in the right direction."
"We're not playing good right now," Jon Lester said. "The games we've pitched well we don't hit, the game's we don't pitch well, we hit. We haven't put it together right now. Nobody in this clubhouse wants to start slow, regardless of years past."
After suffering their first series sweep of this season against Detroit Tigers, the Red Sox were hoping to restore some of the lost pride at Rogers centre but the Blue Jays made them rum for their money. It will be interesting to see if the Bobby Valentine’s
team can put things on the right track in the next regular season game.
