Toronto Blue Jays demolish Atlanta Braves 9-0 – MLB Spring Training
Toronto Blue Jays demolished Atlanta Braves 9-0 at the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin, Florida on Saturday, March 24 in their Grapefruit League encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training session.
The Braves have looked very ordinary since the start of 2012 Spring Training. With just seven wins and fourteen defeats, they will have to do some real hard work to put things back on track. Starter Randall Delgado proved to be extremely expensive for the Braves as he allowed eight runs and ten hits in four innings.
For Toronto, Adam Lind put up a fine show as he hit a towering three run home run and run scoring triple to help his team secure a deserving victory.
"It's good for the team. It's good for me, just to show the staff that I'm trying to have long at-bats," Lind said. "I don't want to become too timid in the box. I want to be aggressive.
"You can't assume a double play," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said, "but if we make that play behind him, it might be a different inning. Still, he's got to learn how to get through those innings. But at the end of the day I think he did pitch a little better than what the linescore showed."
The Jays have emerged as one of the strongest teams in American League division this season. With their 18 wins in 22 games, the Blue Jays have done very few things wrong this spring.
Not many Nationals baseball analysts or writers would have predicted the Jays to perform so consistently before the start of Spring Training. The Blue Jays have given their fans a lot to cheer about and it will be interesting to see if they can continue their impressive run during the regular season.
Although Spring Training results have very little significance in Major League Baseball, it gives teams a chance to gain valuable momentum going into the regular season. The Blue Jays had their best MLB moments in early-90’s when they won the World Series title. The Fans will be expecting their team to clinch another World Series title this season.
