Toronto Blue Jays hammered by Texas Rangers 3-14 – MLB Update

Toronto Blue Jays were hammered by Texas Rangers 3-14 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas on Friday, May 25 in the opening game of their three match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season. Toronto’s loss to the Rangers will be a great
disappointment for Manager John Farrell.
It will be extremely important for the Blue Jays to make a comeback in the next game. A series win in Arlington can provide them with much needed self belief. Toronto’s pitchers paid the ultimate price for their unforced errors on the mound as the Rangers
stacked up a huge total on the board. In a display of complete dominance, Texas’ hitters made the most of scoring opportunities.
Adrian Beltre, Nelson Cruz and Mitch Moreland were extremely effective in the first inning as the Rangers took 5-0 lead. Josh Hamilton once again showed his class as he helped the Rangers take 7-0 lead in the second.
Toronto’s starting pitcher Brandon Morrow had a forgettable time on the mound. He headed off the mound after allowing six runs and five hits in the shortest start of his career.
"You dream to have those kinds of days," said Cruz, who hit a towering home run in the seventh inning. "It can't happen every day. When it happens, you should be happy and enjoy it."
"Some guys work hard to get to get that many RBIs in one month," Texas manager Ron Washington said. "(Cruz) did it one night. That's what he's capable of doing."
"The biggest part was running in from the bullpen," Toronto’s backup catcher JeffMathis said in an interview. "That was real weird."
The Blue Jays have looked in stunning form over the last couple of weeks and they were expected to put up a brave fight against the mighty opponents but Texas took complete advantage of their unforced errors to establish complete control over the contest.
With their win against the Blue Jays, the Rangers also improved their record to 28-18 and it will be interesting to see if they can sweep the Blue Jays to become the leaders of their division.
