Toronto Blue Jays lose to Atlanta Braves 2-5 – MLB Update
The Toronto Blue Jays lost to Atlanta Braves 2-5 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Saturday, June 9 at Turner Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this defeat, the Blue Jays also lost the series 2-0 with one game to spare which will be played on Sunday, June 10 on the same venue. The Blue Jays had already lost the first game by 4-3.
From start to end, the game was dominated by the Braves. They never gave any chance to the Blue Jays to take control of the game instead kept them under pressure throughout the game.
Braves’ entire roster played as one unit and smoothly surpassed the Blue Jays’ offence with great energy.
Starter Tommy Hanson played tremendously well and never gave any chance to the Blue Jays’ batters to score freely. He gave two runs and five hits in his five innings spell. He was too good for Blue Jays’ batting offence who quickly but very intelligently
gave his team a decisive win.
Second baseman Dan Uggla also played well for the Braves and hit a three home run as his team able to oust the Blue Jays.
"We're right back where we were, We've been playing good baseball, We're grinding out at-bats, playing better defense and our pitchers have been outstanding. If we stay consistent like we have been the last week or so, we'll be all right." Uggla said on
his performance with confidence.
Later Toronto manager John Farrell also stated in the media for his team’s great win as well as for some of his productive players, "Prado's a heck of a player at third base, Not just today but yesterday, makes a couple of diving plays to his backhand side.
They played a very solid game. I thought today Drew pitched as consistent as he's been the last three or four times out, Two pitches found the middle of the plate.”
In the meanwhile, this win now put the Braves in second position in the National League East Division with 34-25 win loss record along with .576 winning percentage.
