"When I'm on base, I try for any chance to get to the next base," De Aza said in a post game interview. "I took a good, good jump, I read the ball very well. I didn't think there was going to be a play."
With their win the White Sox improved their record to 63-52 to stay one game ahead of the second placed Detroit Tigers on the American League Central Division standings table.
Robin Ventura will be very pleased with the way his team has responded to difficult situations after the All Star Break. It will be interesting to see if the White Sox can maintain their incredible form to make it through to the playoffs.
"It was good for us, a big win," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said.
"He's a tough kid," Ventura said of starting pitcher Jose Quintana. "He pitched great."
Blue Jays, on the other hand, paid the price for their errors on the field. After getting the better of their opponents in series opener, John Farrell and company had an excellent chance to take an impassable 2-0 lead but the Blue Jays were unable to handle
