Toronto Blue Jays lose to Los Angeles Angels 3-4 – MLB Update
Toronto Blue Jays lost to Los Angeles Angels 3-4 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, California on Sunday, May 6 in the finale of their four match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season. After losing the opening two games, the Angles
showed great determination and fighting spirit to level the series.
With emphatic victories in the first two games, the Blue Jays were the favourites to win the series but the Angles had other ideas. Raising the level of their game in front of their home crowd on Sunday evening, Los Angeles secured a superb victory to improve
their win-loss record to 12-17.
Without a shadow of a doubt, the Angles have some quality players in their offence and bullpen. However, putting the pieces of the puzzle together has been the main problem for them since the start of the season. It will be interesting to see if the Angels
can give similar results in their next series against Minnesota Twins.
"I thought that would be cool. I always wanted to do that, and it worked," Angles’ right fielder Torri Hunter said. "I just said: 'Let's get off the bench and go to the tunnel.' He was excited about it and we were, too. We had to think fast. When I have
a day off, man."
"I don't think anything's been lifted off my shoulders, man," said Pujols. "I don't think about what you guys write or what you think. I know what I'm capable of doing, and I come out here every day and try to get myself ready for the game."
Toronto, on the other hand, will be disappointed to lose the series after doing all the hard work. Eric Thames helped them take an early 1-0 lead in the third. With momentum on their side, it seemed they will find winning ways.
However, Albert Pujols’ 385 feet home run in the fifth helped the Angles come back from behind to take 4-1 lead. The Blue Jays finished the game strongly, scoring runs in the sixth and seventh but they were unable to cross the winning line.
