Toronto Blue Jays not interested to sign free agent Prince Fielder – MLB News
As soon as the 2012 season is approaching, speculations about ace slugger and currently free agent Prince Fielder are getting more complex.
Major League teams do want him but Fielder and his agent Scott Boras are not convinced by any team. Both want a big lengthy contract but currently teams are only offering short and low budgeted deals.
Currently, reports have confirmed that now the Toronto Blue Jays also lost interest signing Fielder after negotiations with his agent went futile.
However, Fielder’s agent Scott Boras has recently said in the media that his client will get a potential contract before the training sessions.
Boras stated, “Certainly we're going to have him signed well in advance of Spring Training. I can't give you the exact date. That's why we have January and early February. Spring Training doesn't start until late February. I think we'll be able to have some things done before that. It's just one that takes some time. You've got to meet with owners. You've got to sit down and talk with them about their needs. He's going to be there a long time, wherever he's going. So we need to get that information to him and evaluate it.”
On the other hand, ground realties do not suggest as Fielder will be getting any contract immediately with this stubborn attitude.
Almost every top MLB team have offered him a potential deal including Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles , Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Nationals, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros and Cincinnati Reds but Fielder and his agent still showing no interest to accept these offers.
Both Prince Fielder and his agent want a potential long contract like Albert Pujols but no MLB team is currently in position to offer them that huge 10 year’s worth approximately $250 million contract.
