Toronto Blue Jays’ optimistic to outbid every MLB team on Yu Darvish’s fate – MLB News
Toronto Blue Jays and their pursuit of landing Japanese young sensation Yu Darvish is getting more anxious as they recently have made a $40 million bid to outdo every Major League Baseball team.
But especially when the Blue Jays learned that some top rich teams like the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox are also after Yu Darvish. The Blue Jays have come up with an extra strong bid which is likely to favour their franchise in negotiating with
Darvish’s agent as well as his club in Japan, the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters.
According to sources, this bid of $40 million might go up-to $50 million that will certainly ensure the next destination for Darvish, who acclaimed fame when he led the Japanese National team to win the World Classic Baseball in 2009. His extraordinary display
of tremendous pitching sent a shockwave among the baseball masses in America. Many think that he must be playing in Major League where he can achieve more glories as compared to stay only in Japan with far less audiences than America.
Recently, a talent evaluator said of Darvish who has also observed as many Major League teams including the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays are also pursuing him. He said, “He has better stuff than (Hideki) Irabu and (Daisuke) Matsuzaka,
He is making $6 million a year in Japan on the field, close to that off the field. So you are starting at $12 million a year over here. I would say five years for $75 million is about right.”
Many baseball experts agreed that his talent is huge and that is the reason why every league team including the Blue Jays have so much confidence on Yu Darvish and planning to bid for a player who can bring the team once again in the elite class of MLB franchises.
It will be exciting to see which team will eventually land the talented Yu and what impact he will have in MLB.
