Toronto Blue Jays oust Miami Marlins 12-5 – MLB Recap
The Toronto Blue Jays ousted the Miami Marlins 12-5 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Friday, June 22 at Marlins Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Blue Jays literally gave no chance to the Miami side and made them realise that their offense is too ineffective for a team like Toronto.
They played as one unit and kept their opponents under pressure until winning it with style in the ninth inning.
Stretching their lead to twelve, the Blue Jays only allowed five runs and won with seven runs’ margin.
Ricky Romero was the upfront arsenal that the Blue Jays used against the Marlins and he responded in big way with his four runs on seven hits. He also allowed four earned and maintained his 3.97 ERA.
"I've been lucky, The hitters have done their part every time I've pitched it seems like." "It's been a grind, it honestly has, Nothing has come easy for me this year. It's no secret. I'm battling, grinding and trying to do everything possible to get deep in the game." Romero said.
The Blue Jays manager John Farrell was very happy on his team’s win as he also spoke to the media. He said with detail and explained all the different aspect of his team’s great performance, "It was a very good offensive night again, Brett gets us started right out of the gate with a triple."
Later the Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen also spoke to the media as he looked total disappointed on his team’s poor performance, "I'd rather lose 2-1 because I have a chance, That means we're pitching well but we're not hitting."
Many in the Marlins’ roster and some other experts on baseball think that on Friday, starter Anibal Sanchez proved lethal for Miami side. He could not play well and received six runs on seven hits. His ERA also rose to 3.94 in his short spell of 3.1 innings.
Later relief pitcher Ryan Webb also could handle the already appalling situation which created by his teammate Sanchez’s lame performance. He also received six runs and six earned runs.
