Toronto Blue Jays’ starting pitcher Jesse Litsch to rest his shoulder for one week – MLB News
The Toronto Blue Jays’ starting pitcher is a good player and considered one of the best players in the League, but lately some soreness in his shoulder is causing some problems for him. Recently in Arizona during 2012 Spring Training with rest of the Blue Jays’ roster, he was doing fine with the ball. But as soon as he told the team doctor about his shoulder and its soreness, the doctor took precautionary measures and told him to take a week’s break and give some rest to shoulder.
Blue Jays’ manager John Farrell said, “Jesse is no-throw for the next seven days. During the pre-camp bullpens and even the first couple in camp Jesse didn’t think it was going to be anything to the point of shutting down. As time went along and the intensity of the workouts started to pick up, he felt the recovery wasn’t there with just one day off and decided it was time to say something, get it checked and then proceed as planned.”
Litsch is a good player and playing in the Blue Jays’ franchise for almost four years now. His game and pitching which often considered one of the best in the League has never showed any loop holes. Over the past four years since 2007, Litsch has been an active part of the Blue Jays’ roster and always played his top game. His depth in pitching has enormously increased and now established himself as wonderful campaigner. Though this late soreness in his injury can put him in slight difficulty, but in the long run, he and his doctors are confident that he will return soon on the field.
In the meanwhile, the Blue Jays are also taking his one week’s absence normal. They know as this is not the time especially not a stage as they should be worrying over their player’s one week absence. Their overall team is looking in great shape and whenever the season starts, the Blue Jays are confident as they will be gaining a clear advantage over their rivals with quite ease.
