Toronto Blue Jays tie with Baltimore Orioles 6-6 – MLB Spring Training
Toronto Blue Jays tied with the Baltimore Orioles 6-6 at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, Dunedin, Florida on Tuesday, March 5 in an important Grapefruit League encounter of the 2013 Spring Training.
Orioles’ Manager Buck Showalter will be extremely pleased with what he saw from his men in a game that was played on a highly competitive note. Orioles’ batting lineup showed nerves of steel under pressure and turned a likely loss into a tied game. It will
be interesting to see if Showalter and his men can continue the good work in the regular season to grab their first American League Championship Series title in almost two decades.
Orioles pitching rotation looked in hot form as they created all sorts of problems for the Toronto’s batting lineup. Starting pitcher and the relievers all made useful contributions to help their side restrict their opponents to a gettable total. Orioles
were the surprise package last season as they made it to the playoffs with none of the baseball writers and analyst expecting them to do so.
"I felt good physically, so that was good, but obviously the results weren't really what I wanted. I wanted to go out there and pound the zone. Just couldn't really get in a rhythm today, especially early," Johnson said in a post game interview.
“Keep working on getting the pitch count up and everything. Gave up some hits, but they were balls through the infield for the most part. Overall, I feel good about it," Happ said.
"Buck is a little-things-in-the-game type of guy. It's not going to be who hits the best," Jackson said.
Blue jays, on the other hand, will also be very content and satisfied with their performance in a pressure game. Considering the form and confident they have shown so far this Spring Training, it will not be wrong to say that they have a very  good chance
of winning the World Series title. Season favourites like the Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants and the New York Yankees will have to be on their toes to overcome the Blue Jays’ challenge this season.
