Toronto Raptors 103 vs. Detroit Pistons 93
After losing four games in row, the Toronto Raptors finally pulled one back after beating the Detroit Pistons 103-93 at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night. The Pistons, who suffered a heart breaking 101-100 loss against the
Cleveland Cavaliers in the last game, started the game strongly and were leading by 13-9 inside the first five minutes of the game. However, that was the last time they saw the lead as the Raps pulled away.
The Pistons trailed by as many as 12 in the first half but inched back early in the third to make it a three point game at 52-55. However, they got outscored 34-14 in the passage spanning over the last 7:07 of the third and the
3:52 minutes of the fourth. Detroit responded with a 13-0 run, but still trailed by 10 as the Raps rolled onto a win.
DeMar DeRozan finished the night with 23 points and 7 rebounds while Leandro Barbosa came off the bench for 17. Pistons were led by a 30 point, 14 rebound effort from Greg Monroe.
Sacramento Kings 115 vs. Washington Wizards 107
Marcus Thornton and Tyreke Evan scored 22 apiece; DeMarcus Cousin had 16 points and 16 boards, including 9 on the offensive end, while Isiah Thomas chipped in with 16 points as the Sacramento Kings bettered Washington Wizards 115-107
and finally put an end to a six-game losing streak.
After some high paced action in the first 11 minutes, the Wizards pulled away with a 15-2 run bridging the first and the second quarter to open up a 41-29 advantage. They were leading by 13 with 3:22 remaining in the first half,
before the Kings responded with an 11-3 spurt to make it 60-65. Washington stretched their lead back to double figures inside the first five minutes of the third, but Thornton, Francisco Garcia and Jason Thompson, who finished the game with 9 points and 11
boards, combined for a 12-2 run to tie the game at 78. Nick young and Jamal Crawford knocked down consecutive 3’s from the other end to seize the initiative back, but the Kings managed to pull back within one, 88-89, at the end of the third.
The teams kept on exchanging baskets and after two consecutive treys, the Wizards were leading by 101-100 with 5:51 to go. Sacramento though, pulled off a 15-4 in the clutch and with that, they sealed the game.
Jordan Crawford led with a season-high 32 points while John Wall had 21 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds for the Wizards, who lost their 4th game in a row.
