Why did central stations look like restrooms and why did expansion stations have beautiful art on them?

  1. Because they are slowly upgrading the stations.  You will notice that the high traffic ones (like at Queen & Yonge) have the artwork.

  2. I'm agreeing with Tracy M.

Also, College station has paintings of Hockey Teams (Toronto Maple Leafs) and i think they have the Montreal Canadiens on there. Not 100% sure.

  3. I'm not sure what you mean by central vs expansion stations.  Queen does have some nice art and it's very central.  Museum was just redone and it's beautiful.  I think they try to balance look with practical things like being able to clean the stations.
