Toronto beaches smell?

I plan on going to the beach with a few friends, the one south of queen street. and im worried that it may smell since lake ontario is so polluted.

  1. I am not sure what the question is...but yeah, Toronto Beaches do smell.  

    It's slightly less in Centre Island, gets a little better in Barrie, but really, if you want a nice beach, you'll have to go far out of the city...Grand Bend is quite nice.

I assume you mean The Beaches.  Ive seen a lot of beaches and they're nothing to complain about.  Any beach can smell, those icky marine animals just have to wash ashore after they die.  Usually the Beaches are kept pretty clean, though and Lake Ontario is not really polluted at all.  As someone pointed out, its better than Lake Erie although Lake Erie is actually becoming cleaner, while for Ontario the reverse may be true?

    In short, no, Toronto Beaches are rather nice and don't really smell, at least not any more so than any beach might under the wrong circumstances.
