Question:

Torrents - Way around the blocked incoming connections?

My network has several blocks put in place to download torrents, completing disregarding the fact they have legal uses. I want to be able to download non-copyrighted files using uTorrent. The only problem is that my network does not allow incoming connections, only outgoing and thus the speed is very low. I have encryption enabled.

I just want to be able to accept incoming connections so my speed is higher. Any ideas?

  1. you can increase the speed tremendously i get up to 200 KBS go here to set your utorrent up for best speed http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=NVq2GkzNrY... then create a static IP address info here http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=iLhZCN_3oD... also you will need to open up your port on your router if you got 1 here http://www.portforward.com/english/route... also remember to turn off your routers firewall.

  2. can you use a different network somehow ? if it doesn't allow incoming then i don't know what you can do other than altering firewall settings.

  3. Proxy is the answer, but its illegal, and you might be thrown away out of the network place if you're caught. Use bit-torrent built-in proxy servers.
