  1. There is a time where the park (Torres del Paine) remains closed to everyone due to the extreme cold. I think July and August is NOT a very good time. I went there in January (summertime!) and temps dropped to 0 degrees celsius but it was beautiful as it was very clear and the Torres were a view. The worst problem is the rain and the fog that comes in wintertime. Even if you can stand the cold weather, going in winter means sometimes that you WONT see the Torres due the he fog!!!! I have heard that in winter there could be weeks and weeks before someone can take a peek at the Torres. You could be wasting your money if you go in August.
