Torres sale might give Liverpool funds for Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez
After an unsuccessful and disappointing season in the English League, Liverpool assigned a new manager to the club, Roy Hodgson. Hodgson was the manager of Fulham and helped them qualify for the Europa League and even made them reach the finals of the tournament, which they lost to Athletico Madrid.
Hodgson, after coming on as a manager, has been trying to recruit some players for the club so that they can reach the top 4. At the moment he already has the confidence of the team’s captain, Steven Gerrard along with Joe Cole. Hodgson gave Benayun to Chelsea and is trying to utilize the money over new players that he can sign for the club. He now has Aquilani and even Mascherano in the midfield. However, the Argentinean has still not committed his future to the club.
Recently Hodgson has faced a new problem that he did not expect. With things going perfectly, Dutch star Robben called their strike force better than “Barcelona”, Torres has shown little interest in staying with the club. With many clubs sending him offers, even though he had a disappointing FIFA World Cup 2010, Torres is still confused about his “commitment” to the English club.
Hodgson, however, is thinking the other way round. Manchester City has already given an open and wide option of 70million pounds to the Spanish striker. Hodgson might utilize those funds to buy a few players along with a good striker. Roy Hodgson already has his eyes set on the Uruguayan golden ball winner Diego Forlan, along with the Ajax star, Luis Suarez. Suarez, who already told the press that he would only join clubs like “Manchester United or Barcelona”. The star of the quarter finals after becoming the “hero” of the show during the match against Ghana, the Uruguayan and Ajax player has his hopes high and would definitely not want to join Liverpool. On the other hand, if he is offered a good sum then he can totally change the fate of the club.
The English club has been in the “top 4” for years and this year round Roy Hodgson wants to bring it all back for Liverpool. He already has a perfect striking force, if Torres is a part of it, and with Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez included in the squad, then the team would definitely be strong and would definitely stand a chance in the English League.
The English League is full of competition with clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester City, Aston Villa and even Fulham. These clubs give a tough time to each other and with Manchester City signing a lot of talented players this year round, they are definitely going to give a tough time to every team. “They might even win the cup,” said an expert and in the English League, anything can happen.
Fernando Torres did not have a good run during the FIFA World Cup 2010, as the new Barcelona signing, David Villa took the entire spotlight by scoring 5 goals and coming very close to winning the golden boot award. Fernando Torres, however, did admit that he was going through a “fitness” crisis but he was still a part of the FIFA World Cup 2010’s winning team as the Spaniards were crowned champions in South Africa.
If Fernando Torres leaves Liverpool for 70million pounds, as the reports are saying, then Liverpool would have a lot of cash to invest and they will definitely buy great strikers. If Liverpool beats all the odds and Luis Suarez or Diego Forlan become a part of their squad then Liverpool is definitely going to become a team that should be feared.
