http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 has gone on to confirm that he still has feelings for his former club Liverpool, and feels that the Reds and their fans will always have a special place in his heart.
Torres went on to make these comments of his, almost immediately after the revelations over what actually happened during the Hillsborough came forth and affected http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and its fans.
“When I heard about Hillsborough I got excited, as I have known a lot of people who lived that, who cried with that... Somehow, I made it mine,” Torres said in a recent interview.
He then went on to talk about the time he spent with the club, and how he felt about the fans there. However, he did save special praise for Rafa Benitez, who he feels is responsible for him moving to the Premier League and becoming as big as he has.
He added: "I owe very much to Liverpool, their fans, Benitez... Liverpool is a main part of my life. I know I'm not well-considered now, but I'm sure that will change in the future.”
"Finally, I decided to leave because it was a step in my career. It was not the best way of leaving, but it was not the way they sold it. Someday people will know the truth."
Following his move to Chelsea from Liverpool, the striker hasn’t really managed to kick things off with a bang. He has failed to reclaim the goal scoring form that made him as popular as he was at Liverpool.
With him scoring just eighteen times in seventy nine appearances for the Blues, the Spaniard has been given a lot of harsh criticism from just about everyone.
However, he is dealing by admitting that at the end of the day, it is the forward himself who needs to be happy with how he plays, and that nobodies words can actually hurt him.
"I learnt the critics couldn't hurt me, I just had to know how to take advantage of them. You're the only one who can say: 'You're getting wrong; you have to react'.
