http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 has gone on to insist that it is the club’s priority to finish in the top four, despite the team being in the finals of the Champions League this season.
The Blues went on to beat QPR by cruising past them, with the final score reading six goals to one, in favour of Chelsea.
During the game, Torres managed to reclaim his goal scoring form and went on to score a very impressive hat trick.
However, despite the win giving the Blues a much needed push towards the top four, Torres has gone on to insist that his team needs to focus on claiming a Champions League spot, since they don’t know what will happen in the finals.
Chelsea are set to take on Bayern Munich next month and a win for Chelsea would ensure them returning the coming season.
Nonetheless, with Munich firing on all cylinders, Chelsea aren’t willing to take any chances on their European qualification.
When talking about the team and just how they need to see out the rest of the season, Torres is quoted to have said: "It's been a very hard week for us and very important as well, the win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and [qualifying for] the final of the Champions
League, but we knew that we wanted to finish in the top four just to secure our place next season.”
"We wanted to win all of our games, especially after the result with Newcastle yesterday.
The striker then talked about the changes that had taken place at the club over the last couple of months, but admitted that things were finally settling down at the Stamford Bridge.
It was] difficult in the beginning and not getting the results, changing the manager during the middle of the season, so no-one was betting for us, but we knew that by working as a team that we could hit the targets and now we are in two finals and probably
with the option to finish in the top four."
