Torrey Canyon??

Can anyone give me a website I can go on to get pictures of the effects of the Torrey Canyon oil spill; and the area of which it affect (ie.a map)??

I think it was off the Devon coast line, and the tug that went to the recue, was named Turmoil. 1954?

Captain of Toorey Canyon was a Swede, named Kurt Carlsen.

I remember this as I lived in Cornwall at the time they tried everything to disperse the oil even bombed it with fighter jets by the RAF to set fire to it.

It was an environmental disaster and killed thousands of sea birds fish and sea mamals many of the beaches were closed for months and the oil was coming ashore forever it seems.
