Toshiba 36 inch TV (8 Years Old)

Hello! Our TV is a Toshiba and it is 8 years old. It is 36 inches and the picture keeps going out. Sometimes it shrinks to a smaller screen and sometimes the picture goes out completely. The sound works fine. Is this something that is fixable?
