Toshiba CRT TV 32" Dolby Surround Sound with sleep problem?

I have just aquired a Toshiba CRT TV with no instructions....does anyone know how you set up/change the sleep function. The TV tends to switch off when ever it likes and I think there must be something set up on it? Or maybe even offer any other suggestion as to why it would have this problem apart from being old and a load of rubbish?

Its not the sleep function because this only turns the TV off once then its disabled untill you use it again.

It is probably a dry joint. try tapping the TV while it is on. if it goes off then thats your problem.

That's not a TIMER Function...they turn off at a precise time, or ONCE every hour, half hour...

A preset time each day, every day...or every hour on the hour...

Your problem is more sporadic....

And that clearly indicates either cracked solder connections in your power supply or horizontal circuit, OR you may have a temperature sensitive power regulator....bad optoisolator...something in the power supply circuit.
