Toshiba L300/L300D installation problems

I have a toshiba L300/L300D and the first time i turned it on it asked me whether i would like to go onto safe mode, or go to windows normally.It then goes onto a screen and it is installing something and it says 'Finishing the installation, may take several minutes.' I have been waiting all day now and nothing has happened.What can i do?
