Question:

Toshiba laptop question?

I have a Toshiba laptop. My dog trampled over the cord and his claws were so sharp, they cut into the cord and it won't work. That was two months ago. I bought a new one on eBay through someone that sells replacement Toshiba cords. I got it today due to delays in shipping and having to reship a second cause the first got lost. Then, I plugged it in and it's charging. However, the mouse won't register when the laptop is plugged in. You can see it on the screen but it won't move. But, when I unplug the laptop it moves like normal. This didn't happen before. Could this be a problem from it being dead so long? Is there a way to fix it?

  1. is that your touchpad mouse?  What happens if you plug in a mouse?  Will it work? maybe get your touchpad mouse to work again?

  2. have you tried going into the control panel click on mouse and reset the controls? It would not be a problem caused by being unplugged

  3. All I can say is update all your drivers. During the time your laptop was dead, the manufacturer of the mouse could have released a new driver for your mouse.

  4. I THINK SO LET IT CHARGE FOR AWHILE AND THEN WHEN ITS FULL TAKE OUT THE CHARGER AND USE IT JUST TRY IT. LET ME KNOW IF YOU GOT ANY MORE PROBLEMS WITH IT

  5. I have a Toshiba as well. If you have the mouse that allows you to run applications off of it, I would make sure that it is not initiated. If you have it, you will know what I am talking about.
