Toshiba notebook screen going black?

i just recently got a toshiba notebook

when i want to put full screen lets say when im watching a movie or somthing the screen always turns black

i dont know why all the cables are in and nothings touched it just goes black

anyone know why or if there is a setting i can change that will make it stop

  2. it sounds like a driver issue you may need to go back to where you bought it and explain the issues they have machines that will diagnose the system. It can be a video card with Toshiba hardware issue or operating system with video card driver issue. Good luck i hope your problem gets fixed

  3. mine does it too. its the stupid windows vista. its just something with the video player that malfunctions. its a bug.

    i have no idea why it happens but its a real p**s off

  4. What has worked for me so far is when you have the video in it's original size (not full screen), right click, click "settings" and then click the left-most tab on the page that comes up. There should be a box labeled "Enable hardware acceleration". Uncheck that box and click close. This is all assuming you're watching a flash-based video (which most streaming videos are).

    Usuually when it goes black screen, it means the resolution is out of range therefore unable to render your video. Try changining your desktop resolution to a lower one.
