  1. Always remember that the audience WILL clap for you, whether they like the skit or not. Just breathe deeply and always try to do your best.

  2. Audiences are on your side!  They want to see people do well because they want to be entertained.  Never look directly at the audience.  I tell people that if they are afraid of seeing the audience, look at a spot about 5 inches above their heads.  They still think that you're looking at them.  Just breathe.  Focus on your lines, your movements, hitting your cues and your spots.  The more you focus on those the less you'll even notice the audience.  You'll do great!  Just go and have fun.  Audiences can sense when you're having fun, and it rubs off on them.  Remembe,r they want you to succeed!

  3. Honestly, I don't know how to help you. I never really had stage fright. During my first show onstage, when the curtain went up, there was this little thrill that rushed to me, but then I remembered what I had to do, and I did it. The best advice I can give to you is... first of all, don't try to imagine the audience in their underwear. It doesn't really work, you are too focused on imagining them in their underwear, and then you forget what to do. Don't worry. The audience wants you to do well. They won't make fun of you. If they did, then they came to see the skit for ALL the wrong reasons. And if the audience doesn't clap, then they are just being *****. Don't worry. Just relax, have fun. Break a leg! =]

  4. People will clap even if something is bad or not to their taste. An important thing is to have confidence in what you are doing and take appropriate risks. Who knows? Maybe it will have great reception and you will be "discovered" (depending on what you are doing the skit for) and maybe you will just have to go back to the drawing board. You have to remind yourself that it's just a skit, it's no big deal and relax. Don't be afraid to go over the top. The audience won't say, "look how insane she is", they will be entertained. It's comedy.

  5. Just have fun and picture the audience in their underwear!!!!! lol
