my daughter is turning 11 next month. i don't want her to have an expensive party, because we are going to washington d.c in June which costs a LOT of money. i was thinking about a home party. wouldn't this be the cheapest way to go? she wants to invite 3 friends. i want to spend a VERY limited amount of money, because of our trip this summer. what could we do for a home party that would cost under $20?maybe have games, snacks, movies...do u think she would enjoy it??

  1. find some cheap crafts to do with the girls, that way their creation will be the goodie they take home.

    =)

  2. Chuck-E-Cheese is really cheap since business recently went down for them...i think for 20 bucks you could keep them extremely occupied for a couple of hours.

  3. That sounds like fun! I teach 6th grade and the girls I teach like manicures.  They could give each other manicures or you could do it for them? (you can get a variety of nail polishes, emery boards, etc. for reasonable prices!)  It is just an idea:)  Have fun:)

  4. The idea of a salon party is a great one.  It's super cheap to buy all that dollar store make-up, and at 11, I'm guessing that still qualifies as a novelty for the girls.

You might also find an older girl to style their hair - do you have a friend or neighbor who might be willing to do french braids and the like?

Instead of favors, just let the girls take home the half-used bottles.  Then you don't have any extra clutter in your house, either.

As for movies, you might try Grease - there's the whole Beauty School Drop Out/Sandy's make-over tie-in.

If you bake her cake, I think you could manage it for around $20.  But start shopping for the make-up now - you'll need to find the best deal.

When you're going cheap, it's always best to theme it.  Creativity masks a tight budget!  :)

  5. Oh! i like hannah montanna 2 , so maybe she could have her friends over for a slumber party and make it like a dance party with snacks and stuff,

    Goodluck!

Edit- Maybe you should just take her to Mcdonalds for lunch.

  6. i wold go to the local craft store and get something they can create like sand art or t shirts  it's cheap and fun  anything at a craft store is fun for young girls i did that  a couple of times and i still do maybe even a beed kit they have fun making friendship bracelets . also have it more of a teen party so she feels grown up and  it's not coastly

      (these kits are great)

even doing  facals and nails thats cheap i know acme or a supermarket near you has maskes for like 1.00 for each you could get the face ones the feet hands and stuff like that and  the dollar store has nail polishes and stuff like that

  7. For my 10th birthday I had a scavenger hunt within the neighborhood. My mom made up the list and we had to go door to door and whichever team got the most on the list won. I don't remember what we won but I suggest something their interested in, maybe lipbalm and lotion or something like that for each girl on the winning team

  8. How about have a friend do a Magic Show? Buy a cake, have a couple of her friends over... Shouldn't be too much

  9. Why do you keep asking the same question over and over again if all you do is say you do not like what people say? Just do what you want then and stop posting the same annoying question.

Oh look she is actually the 11 yr old kid

  10. A pool party (if you have a swimming pool at home) or maybe just invite the friends to the movies (3 of them and your daughter).

    Pool party $20-$30

Movies $40 or $50 if you want to come

  11. At eleven, my twins considered themselves "pre-teens". These girls probably just want to hang out and have fun. I say make a few c.d's of the girls favorite music on your computer. Obviously, if your daughter likes Hannah Montana then maybe that is the kind of music they would like. Also, just have finger foods. Maybe a snack tray with chip and dip or fruit/vegetables. Whatever your daughter and her friends prefer. There is no need to go with a themed party if it is only 3 friends. Just set out some paper plates and some soda for the girls. Let them hang out and just do what they like to. I totally agree with you on the no-sleepover thing. It becomes a hassle trying to get them to go to sleep, and then staying up all night. I've tried it before, and ever since I have never been too keen on over-nighters.

Best of luck to you and your daughter. Hope my input helps a bit!!!

  12. yeah that would be the cheapest way out, and im sure she will love it. yes you could have games and snacks while watching a movie and maybe turn it into a sleepover party. maybe you could add a theme to the party too, my cousin had a theme of hannah montana and she loved it, but thats her choice on hannah haha i dont know about your daughter. im sure it will be fun =) good luck !
