buzzed...because you are in the beginning stages where you still know who YOU are and things are becoming distorted and silly. Wasted...is just wasted.

Highly buzzed.  When you are totally wasted you are doing one of the following:  passed out, pissing yourself while passed out, or puking your guts out--totally gross!

Highly buzzed means you are conscious and having a blast with your friends.
