Tote bag or Backpack?

Question

I'm starting high school, and was wondering if a tote bag or backpack would be better. I already have a tote bag that's meant for school, but I'm wondering if a backpack is a better choice.

totes're so cute and they look way better than backpacks but im going with a backpack this year coz im afraid that it hurts my shoulders specially that im really skinny and short lol :] so if u're getting a tote bag just get it from somewhere that it doesnt hurt that much maybe from http://www.victoriasecret.com OR http://www.aeropostale.com they usually say american eagle is the best but i dont like how they look there i dunno maybe you would like it. if ur getting a backpack get it from jansport they have some really cute bookbags and not so expensive. i mean if u look 4 looks then go with a tote. if u look 4 function then go with backpack :D

i personally carry tote bag because its easier than a huge back pack thing

Do you have lockers?

If you do, tote bag is the answer. But if you don't, I suggest backpacks...

Tote bags are much more convenient to carry around and place in classrooms, but if you don't have any lockers, a tote bag might be too little to carry all your books in...

i say tote bag because it is lighter on your shoulders and it is easily accessible. With a backpack, you have to take it off to get something.

With a tote bag, you just have to reach to your side.

It's probably easier to get jacked with a tote bag, & a backpack holds more stuff. Just get a cute backpack :P

Backpacks are much better because they fit in lockers better and are easier to hold weight. Would you want 20 pounds on one shoulder, or around 6 pounds on each shoulder and your back? It seperates the weight.

im only in middle school and i tried a tote bag and it was terrible!! Too many books and the tote can only hold like 3 txt books...

tote bag their cuter more fashionable and plus some back packs can hurt your shoulders when totes don't for me
