Tote or backpack?

Question

Im going into 8th grade.

but last year my backpack [regular jansport] just took up to much room in my locker even when it was empty.

So idk which one to get.

We can't carry our bags around so discomfort really shouldn't be a problem.

What do you recommend?

Oh and if you choose a tote, would you please help me find a cute cheap one under $15?

I used a messenger bag last year in Eighth grade but, it puts all the weight on one shoulder and can cause back problems so, I recommend to go with a mesh jansport backpack.

They don't take up that much space and aren't as bulky as the regular backpacks.

Also, totes aren't good for you back either.

Im going to 7th. What i have is a small backpack, just big enough to carry my books from home to school. we have top shelves in our locker so i fold it up and shove it into there leaving room for other things in my main locker. In ym school its against rules to carry around backpacks to classes so i just get a cheap $10-$15 one from aeropostale, abercrombie, or hollister, sometimes even american eagle. I jsut use that for each class which dosnt weigh you down as much. :3

A tote.

make sure it has pockets.

and make sure it not cheapy or it will rip.

jcpenny has good ones, sometimes bedbath and body works too (but i think they're like over $25)

A tote will take up less space.

Kohl's and Walmart have many totes.
