Toto Wolff believes Williams can rediscover their form before end of 2012 – Formula 1 news
Williams’ executive director, Toto Wolff has said that they can surely rediscover their form before the end of the 2012 Formula 1 season despite facing difficulties in the last few races.
Pastor Maldonado and his teammate, Bruno Senna have not been able to attain competitive results in the preceding few races. Moreover, it will be important to note that both the drivers have been seen struggling with their form in most of the races in the
season so far.
Wolff said that they are feeling quite upset about their poor performances in the previous races. However, he said that they know the areas which are needed to be focussed and asserted that they are looking forward to come up stronger in the remainder of
the season so as to be able to secure a good position in this year’s championship fight.
“[We're] very disappointed [with recent results], but we know the reasons why,” he added. “It's just about getting everything together and I think we have seen of Korea that many other teams are having ups and downs.”
In addition, he said that it is very hard to make any kind of projections about the forthcoming races as the season has brought so many surprises until now. Besides, he said that the competition is very tough and they need to work really hard to find the
right pace for the remaining four grands prix.
“It's almost incredible that one car is performing and the other not so good, but that's what we see with tyres and with a tricky track and tricky grip levels. We haven't been so good in Korea but Singapore was fantastic in terms of the sheer speed of the
car,” he added.
It will be interesting to mention that Williams’ 2013 driver line-up is still to be finalised. Nevertheless, Wolff has recently said that they are evaluating the options and are hoping to come up with the decision before the end of this season.
Let’s see how the Grove based team performs in the approaching races and who joins the British squad in the coming year.
