It has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur have put a massive price tag of 50-million pounds on the head of Luka Mordric, in order to ward off any interest that the top
teams across Europe are showing in the player.
At the moment, Manchester United are being hailed as the favourites to land the player. This is because Alex Ferguson sees the 25-year-old Croatian international as a direct
replacement for the soon to retire http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394. At the same time, it is also believed that Ferguson was willing to offer as much as 35-million pounds to land Modric.
However, it seems like Tottenham don’t see that offer to be enough for their talismanic midfielder. The team landed the player from Dinao Zagreb in 2008 for a fee set to
be around 17-million pound mark. But, ever since his arrival at the club Modric has managed to hit a form of his own and is often regarded to be one of the finest midfielders in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
The player has managed to make 103 appearances to date with Tottenham and has managed to find the back of the net on ten separate occasions. However, Modric isn't really
a goal scoring midfielder and his greatest asset lies in his ability to carry the team forward and dictate play from the centre of the pitch, while creating numerous goal scoring opportunities for the rest of his team.

An insider at the White Hart Lane is reported to have said, “Modric is going nowhere and if United seriously want him the bidding starts at £50m”
“Harry thinks he's the most gifted player in the squad and Modric is a model pro on a long contract – it's a non-starter.”
At the moment Modric is tied down to Tottenham as part of a contract that is set to run out in May 2016. This is what the White Hart Lane team are looking to exploit in
order to milk the maximum amount of revenue, in case a team does show serious interest in the player.

At the moment, apart from Manchester United, the likes of Chelsea and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 are also set to be interested in securing the player's services. However, with the new demand
that the team have placed on the player, it seems like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 would be the only team willing to meet the team's demands, only because the Blues are looking to re-build their side from the ground, up.
