Tottenham Hotspur Gareth Bale wants to be back in the Champions League next season: EPL News
Tottenham Hotspur winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422, has insisted that a win over their rivals Arsenal could prove to be vital as the North London side is chasing the final UEFA Champions League berth for the next 2011-12 season.
The 21-year-old was talking ahead of the all important North London derby that is to take place on Wednesday, 20 April at White Hart Lane. The winger expressed his desire to complete a double over Arsenal, after the Gunners were beaten 3-2 at the Emirates
Stadium earlier in the season.
The Welshman believed that victory over arch-rivals could bolster a spark in the Spurs camp, which is probably what Harry Redknapp’s side need. The inspirational winger further added that this victory could take the Spurs a long way and will certainly put
Manchester City under immense pressure, as Roberto Mancini’s side are also chasing that illusive Champions League spot.
Bale has urged his team to repeat last year’s feat where Redknapp’s man defeated Arsene Wenger’s army by a 2-1 margin. That victory inspired Spurs to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League for the first time.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 international further added, "I remember last season how big that win over Arsenal was and how it set us up for the run-in,"
The Sun quote him as saying. "Not only did it mean we had beaten our closest rivals for the first time in a long time but it kick-started us on the winning streak which took us to fourth and was an amazing achievement."
The winger hailed the efforts of his manager who enabled this Spurs' side to make it through to Europe’s most prestigious tournament. He also praised his team-mates for putting up a remarkable show in front of some of the top European sides.
The winger concluded by saying, "The atmosphere will be rocking and it's the sort of game that everybody dreams of playing in. It will be a night to remember if we win and do the double to help us climb up the table. It's massively important that we get
back in the Champions League."
Tottenham inflicted defeats upon the likes of reigning European champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, and also dumped the current Serie A leaders AC Milan out of the competition. The Spurs trip in Europe finally came to an end when the Spanish giants, Real Madrid, stopped
them from reaching the semi-finals of the competition, beating them 5-0 on aggregate.
