Tottenham edged Liverpool 2-1 in a match from which Brendan Rodgers would feel his side deserved at least a point.
Despite dominating majority of the proceedings, the Reds could not make up for their poor start which saw them concede 2 goals inside the first 16 minutes.
In the following articles, we will cast a glance at how the Liverpool players performed during the evening, assigning them points on a scale from 1 to 10.

There was very little the Spaniard could do to prevent the opening goal and was bamboozled by a deflected Bale free-kick which resulted in the hosts’ second. However, he made a couple of fine saves to keep his side in contention, most notably one from a
powerful Bale free-kick, but was mostly untested in the second period.

Looked more dangerous while going forward then in his usual position in the backline. Should have intercepted Bale in the process of the opening goal and struggled to keep pace with the Welsh footballer throughout the match.

Was solid as ever in the defence. Won most of the aerial battles and preferred to feed passes to his midfielders rather than making long clearances. Also set up a good opportunity for Suarez upfront.
Martin Skrtel – 6.5
Looked wayward early on, but improved as the match went on. Should have slid in the path of Bale’s low cross which cost his team the opening goal. Mostly looked untroubled against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 and overall, put up a satisfactory show.
Jose Enrique – 7.5
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s top performer by far. The manager pushed him forward in a left-winger’s role. Whipped in myriad crosses inside the box and also pounded a powerful shot at goal which drew a fine save from Lloris.

Came up with a much improved performance than last week. Played a valuable part in the Reds solitary goal and was thoroughly unlucky not to have won a penalty kick, after being brought down inside the box by Dempsey.

Liverpool’s flop of the match. Failed to hit the target from just outside the box with an empty goal at his disposal and conceded the free-kick which the Spurs to double their advantage. Remained uninvolved in action upfront and was consequently substituted
in the second period.

Had another poor outing. Never looked comfortable in possession and lacked agility in the defence. Was snubbed for Assaidi later on in the game.
Joe Allen – 5.5
Guilty of committing far too many challenges, but nevertheless, was impressive at the heart of the field.
Raheem Sterling – 7.5
Threatened to break free from the flanks with his blistering pace, winning multiple corners for his side. Looked ordinary in the first period but stepped up his game after the restart. However, failed to come up with a quality end product.
Luis Suarez – 7.5
Peppered multiple shots at Lloris and was always a threat while going forward. Drew a fine save from the goalkeeper after firing a thunderous shot just from the edge of the area, but scuppered a volley from just 12 yards out. Was also unfortunate not to
be awarded a penalty, despite enduring a wild challenge from Gallas.
